Further to our Sailing Committee meeting last night and having consulted with the RO today, it has been decided in the interest of safety to the crews and support boats to cancel the W/L racing tomorrow (Saturday 22nd July).
However, we also agreed that normal Saturday racing can take place from the MYC line AND starting at the earlier time (same as W/L) due to the potentially worsening weather conditions during the afternoon. Therefore, Starting from MYC line the sequence will be as follows:
Dragon Warning 12:25
Sonata Warning 12:35
Squib Warning 12:45
Wayfarer Warning 12:55
It has been agreed that there was no need to amend the sailing instructions and that the class captains would advise their class members as soon as possible.
Under the circumstances I am sure everyone agrees that this is a sensible approach, not only taking safety into consideration but getting a race in.
CLASS CAPTAINS, PLEASE ADVISE YOUR CLASS MEMBERS ASAP. THANK YOU.
