Racing Documents
Shoreside
Cruisers
The Cruisers will be racing under the YTC/IRC handicap system. It is intended that they will have a maximum of three races, two on Saturday and one on Sunday.
Our regatta is a relaxed event offering three classes of handicap racing for cruisers plus one design racing for Dragons, Sonatas and Squibs. All races start and finish from committee boats in the River Medway or the Thames Estuary apart from the Squibs who will use the normal club line.
The Regatta starts off on the Friday evening with a practice race. The race will start and finish at the MYC line and will be sailed under the YTC handicap system. Prizes will be presented in the clubhouse after the race. The galley and bar will be open for post-race refreshments.
The Regatta points series starts on Saturday morning. There will be committee boat starts down river on both days and all communication will be by VHF radio and/or WhatsApp. Please ensure you advise the committee of your mobile contact number when completing the regatta entry form.
The race committee look forward to seeing as many boats as possible over the Regatta weekend, enjoying the sailing on our wonderful River Medway and the onshore festivities.
The NOR will be available no later than 20th April 2026 and the SI’s will be available no later than 29th May 2026. All entries will be listed at the bottom of this page.
Dragons
The Dragons will have windward/leeward courses on Saturday and Sunday. It is intended that they will have a maximum of seven races, four on Saturday and two races on Sunday. The first race will be held on Friday afternoon starting from the Club line and using the river buoys.
Sonatas
The Sonatas will have windward/leeward courses. It is intended that they will have a maximum of six races, four on Saturday and two races on Sunday.
