Course: RYA Level 1 Adult Start Sailing (Keelboat)

Length of course: 2 days

Timings: 9:30am – 4:30pm

Location: Medway Yacht Club, Lower Upnor, Rochester, Kent, ME2 4XB

Who should do this course?

If you are an adult interested in learning to sail with an instructor aboard the dinghy, this course is for you. Medway Yacht Club instruct using the Sonata Keelboat

This course is an introduction to sailing dinghies for complete beginners, covering everything you need to know to get afloat under supervision.

Assumed Knowledge: none

Course content: how to sail in all directions, After you have learnt to rig the boat and received an introduction to the boat’s controls, the group will take to the water to experience for the first time under the close supervision of a qualified RYA keelboat instructor.

Ability after course: able to sail in light winds under supervision

Minimum duration: 2-day course

Minimum age: 16

Format: afloat predominantly practical on the water with some classroom elements.
