It is with great sadness that the Flag Officers regret to inform you that David Townshend, Commodore 1993 – 1994 and husband of Judy, passed away due to ill health on the 29th January 2026.
David and his family have had a long and highly regarded association with MYC. Many will remember Roy his father as Commodore 1973 – 1974, and Marguerite his mother for many years as a race angel.
David himself had great success as a sailor representing us regionally, nationally as well as on home waters.
His funeral will take place at:
