What a season we have ahead at Medway Yacht Club. As you may have gathered though, training has been delivering RYA courses and other training through the winter/spring and has courses in season already sold out.
Therefore, this specific e-news is just to help make sure no one misses out as there are only so many days to the year!
Adult informal training starts Saturday 23rd April. Please book through the club office
Youth informal training starts Sunday 24th April. Please book through the club office.
Members are invited to bring adult friends to training on Saturday 30th May. After training they join you for lunch. Then, they can join me on Bellis to see you start your racing. Ideal opportunity to share with friends what you do on Saturdays.
Youth on Sunday 31st May have a session called ‘bank holiday buddies’. Youth bring along your school friends / buddies who you would like to come on the water with you. The longer read aka some more details:
• Training at the club is for all. Plenty already in the calendar, and more can be added by request and as per demand. Training is for members, guests, beginners and new to the water through to regular club racers, new keelboat owners, those going on cruising trips, class events.
• I’m always happy to chat sailing! Many members say hello which is great. It has been satisfying to have already delivered training this season specifically geared around members request, and there is more scheduled in the calendar.
• Private tuitions. Have you just bought a boat, need some input on a specific skill, want to be confident at a manoeuvre? Let me know and we can have a conversation about it. Depending on what you request I will happily arrange the training, try and link you up to a member or class in the club and/or arrange support.
• Class training. I have communicated with all Class Captains and will continue to over the season about possibilities for adding to your season.
• RYA training. Medway Yacht Club is a recognised RYA Training Centre. This brings lots to the club. One more obvious aspect of this is RYA courses. The most popular at the moment at Medway Yacht Club are the courses RYA Start Sailing (for adults), RYA Powerboat Level 2, RYA SRC Marine radio.
