Cruiser Class October Newsletter

In line with past traditions, it is the turn of Mr 𝕷𝖊𝖋𝖋𝖊 to compose this newsletter.

We had hoped to tell you the tales of some members of the Tuesday Group who hired a canal boat from Ely and went to St Ives. However due to a misunderstanding of the complexities of operating an automatic lock in high winds and the rather strict bail conditions imposed it is not possible to elaborate. Needless to say, many of the hostelries along the Great Ouse were grateful for their patronage.

Commodore’s Day

Another one of those Agincourt Days : you had to be there to believe it.

The Cruiser Class put on a wonderful display, festooning their boats with many different flags, not quite in the traditional dressed overall way, but effective non the less. We even manage to entice the Commodore of Queenborough Yacht Club to bring two boats to join in the festivities. Our Commodore Richard Stone was invited to judge the bed making competition but instead took wine with us all.

Before the Meal there will be the Class AGM in the library at 1730 . We have not had a AGM for two years so this is your opportunity to come along and have your say and vote for your committee.

It’s coming to the end of the season and not many of you are venturing away. The last Queenborough weekend proved to be a success with 18 people sitting down to dinner in the Queen Phillipa.

This was due to be the last one of the season but if there is a calling for one more (9th October), then please let John Marshall know

Don’t forget the class runs a WhatsApp group aimed at cruises and any other yachty matters: if you want to know more contact Bob Turk
