Important for all racers there have been some significant changes to the racing rules for 2021. Your Sailing Committee has arranged a presentation from Chris Simon, one of the RYA ‘s rules experts for up to 100 club members.
Chris is the Regional Rules Adviser for the RYA London & South East Region (a volunteer position).
He has been a sailboat racer, nearly all in dinghies and small keelboats, most of his life starting when about 10 years old.
He is a National Judge, Umpire and Race Officer of many years standing (previously IU, IJ and IRO). He has umpired many high-level match racing events including AC 31 and 32 and sat on juries at World and Continental championships and the Volvo Ocean Race since the late 1980s.
He is a member of the RYA Racing Rules Committee and the Editor of the RYA Case Book.
Under the current Covid restrictions this is being delivered by Zoom at 19:30 on 31st March.
