Once again, The Medway Yacht Club is pleased to be hosting the South East Regional Final of the Honda RYA Youth RIB Championship. It will take place on a course laid in front of the club on Saturday 16th June. Children from clubs in the region will compete against each other by making timed runs in RIBs on a course including a slalom, a controlled stop and a reversing exercise. The winner of each age group will progress to the national final at the Southampton Boat Show. The first prize for each age group is a brand new RIB for the winners’ club.
We shall be running RIB training sessions for the children associated with the club who would like to take part and represent MYC. The dates and times of the training sessions will be:
Sunday 13th May 11:30 am
Sunday 20th May 3:15 pm
Sunday 27th May 11:30 pm
Sunday 3rd June 2:30 pm
Sunday 10th June 10:30 pm
The entrants ages should fall within the following ranges on the date of the National Final at the Southampton Boat Show on 16th September 2018:
- 8yrs to 12yrs [ie not yet 13]
- 13yrs to 16yrs [ie not yet 17]
