“She Sails” – Sailing and social group for girls and women at MYC – first meeting 11am Saturday 1st April
Medway Yacht Club already has a good number of female sailors of all ages and experience but is keen to encourage more.
MYC will be providing sailing opportunities and training specifically for girls and women of all ages and experience. The first meeting of the group, which is open to MYC members and non members who are interested in sailing, will be on Saturday 1 April.
11:00 – Tea / coffee and cake
Come in and meet others interested in sailing and enjoy a free cup of tea or coffee and a piece of cake (the bar is open if you fancy something stronger)
11:30 – Introduction and sailing tales
Introduction by the Commodore followed by “The joys of sailing and how I started stories” from female sailors at MYC highlighting the delights of the many different types of sailing available and how people can get involved.
For those who wish lunch will be available from the galley.
If you sail already but would like to learn more, have sailed in the past and want to get back on the water or a complete novice who fancies giving the fantastic sport of sailing a go this group is for you. Even if you don’t want to get out on the water but fancy joining in the activities of Medway Yacht Club this is still the group for you.
The group will be social, supportive and fun – come along and give it a go.
