If you are aged 8 to 16 this is a fantastic opportunity to learn to drive a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB), compete in a national competition with the possibility of representing MYC at the national final at the Southampton Boat Show in September with a chance to win a Highfield 460 or a Honwave T40 RIB for the club.
The competition takes the form of a time trial around a set of marks – the fastest time wins, skill and control, and not necessarily speed, are the most important factors. Each competitor has two runs, one as a practice and one as a ‘hot lap’.
- 8-12 years
- 13-16 years.
The age refers to the age at the time of the National Final on 17th September 2017.
MYC will be hosting the South East area final on Saturday 8th July.
Entrants from MYC and other clubs in the region will compete against each other in time trials with the winner of each age group progressing to the national final at the Southampton Boat Show.
