MYC win places to Honda Youth Rib Championship final
The Honda Youth Rib Championship which is sponsored by Honda and Highfield, is a National Championship in which 8 – 16 year old Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) drivers demonstrate their skills with the goal of winning a Highfield 460 or a Honwave T40 for their club.
Harry Chung winner 13-16 years
The RYA through its affiliated clubs, organisations and training centres runs a National Championship in Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) for juniors/youths. Clubs. There are 14 Regional Finals and the winner in each age group (8-12 years and 13-16 years) takes part in the National Final held at the PSP Southampton Boat Show on Sunday, 13th September 2015.
On Saturday 1st August Medway Yacht Club, for the second year running, hosted the South East Regional Finals. The weather was perfect for the 12 competitors, among them 6 first timers who had all enjoyed the thrill of driving a RIB through the challenging course trying to obtain the best time in their age group.
Morgan Glass – winner 8 to 12 years
In a repeat of last year the MYC home team, who had been practising hard since the beginning of the season, where successful with Harry Chung and Morgan Glass winning their age groups. Both boys will go forward to the National Finals to be held at the Southampton Boat Show on September 13th 2015.
