The Medway Sonata Class is an active section of the Medway Yacht Club, based on the River Medway near the ancient City of Rochester in Kent.

The Sonata is a 4 berth, 7 metre keel boat, built by Hunter Boats Ltd, and suitable for racing or cruising with a small crew ( typically 4 ).

There are basically two models available, a fin keel version which is a one-design class and a lifting keel version which is ideally suited to cruising.

Only the fin keel version can take part in our one design racing although both are welcome in the Medway Yacht Club's Cruiser Class handicap fleet.

The Sonata is a relatively inexpensive boat to run and there are currently around 30 boats in the Medway Fleet.
