Dragons have been raced continuously on the Medway since 1949. Our current fleet counts 18 boats with a large number of new boats. We race for our points series on Saturdays and the average turnout for each race is between10-15 making for excellent racing. However, we also have special weekends and the Medway Regatta for more extended competition. In 2007,we introduced a league which has proved popular and stimulates competition throughout the fleet.

In 2004, the Medway Dragon Fleet hosted the East Coast Dragon Championships for the first time and this event was held again in 2007 with 31 entries. The fleet also enjoys a very lively and varied social programme : casual suppers, an annual picnic, a Christmas Lunch and during the winter months a trip to France or Belgium(in order to stock up on wine reserves) and of course the annual Prize giving dinner. We also have occasional lectures before our casual suppers.
