Skippers' declaration

The Cruiser Class race entry form declaration

All our Entry Forms contain a "Skipper’s Declaration" which every Owner or "Person in charge" must sign,  agreeing to be bound by the rules under which the races are run,  and accepting responsibility for the management of their boat.
This declaration,  and our Sailing Instructions,  Section 2 (Safety and Responsibility),  are based on the ISAF  Racing Rules of Sailing ( RRS No. 1 to.4 and the RYA Addendum C  to RRS Appendix N).
Signing this declaration before you  start a race is a condition of entry,  and boats not properly entered will not rank as starters or be given a finish time.

"I agree to be bound by the Racing Rules of Sailing,  Prescriptions of the RYA,  MYC  Cruiser Class  Sailing Instructions and appropriate  ORC,  rating authority and class rules.  If any alteration likely to affect the rating is made,  I will notify the rating authority and the race committee immediately.   The boat will be racing in measurement trim, with a copy of the rating certificate on board,  and will be made available for inspection.
I understand that cruiser racing may be dangerous and I agree that the race organisers shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury to me, my crew or others,   or for the loss of,  or damage to,  any vessel or property,  as a result of taking part in the race or races.   I have paid particular attention to section 2,  "Safety and Responsibility", in the  MYC Cruiser Class  Sailing Instructions and related Racing Rules of Sailing.
Before racing,  I will effect adequate and suitable insurance,   and will ensure my crew is aware of the undertaking in this declaration,  the importance of effecting appropriate personal insurance,   and their responsibility in rules observance,  in particular RRS 1.2 (wearing personal buoyancy adequate for the conditions)".
