Notice of AGM

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of this Club will be held in the Clubhouse, Lower Upnor on Saturday 7th December 2019 at 12:00 hours when the attendance of members is requested for the following purpose:

2 To confirm the minutes of the 2018 Annual General Meeting (previously circulated)

3 To consider matters arising

4 Commodore’s Report

5 To adopt proposed changes to Rules

6 Hon. Treasurer Report – 2019 Accounts / 2020 Budget

IMPORTANT NOTES:

If a member of the Club wishes to propose any other business for consideration at the AGM, it must be delivered to the Club Secretary by 12:00 hours on Tuesday 19th November 2018. Rule 8.3 shall apply. Amendments to resolutions may be submitted to the Secretary at least 8 clear days before the AGM (Friday 29th November 2019). Rule 8.4 shall apply.

At every General Meeting of the Club, the Commodore or senior Flag Officer or, in their absence, a chairman elected by those present shall preside, Rule 8.7 shall apply. Unless otherwise specifically provided in the Rules a resolution shall be carried by a majority of votes. In the event of an equality of votes, the chairman shall have a second or casting vote. A quorum at any General meeting of the Club shall be 80 persons present and entitled to vote.

(Rule 8.8) Attendance at any Special or Annual General Meeting of the Club shall be restricted to Life, Veteran, Single Members and Family Members including not more than two adult representatives over the age of 18 from each Family membership. All members entitled to attend shall be entitled to one vote save that in the case of Family members they are limited to one vote per family unit and not per Family member.
